Introducing LyoDots™
The World's Smallest
Lyophilized Reagents
  • Miniaturized Format for Dx & POC Devices
  • Customized to Your Formulation
  • Same Performance as Wet Reagent
  • Stable at Room Temperature
  • Automation Friendly
Actual Size
(Well, depending on your monitor settings. But it's small)

Why Miniaturization Matters

LyoDots allow assay developers and instrument manufacturers to create designs that were previously not possible.

  • Significantly shrink cartridge design and instrument footprint
  • Reduce the amount of required sample and reagent by using smaller reactions
  • Less liquid means less energy is required to pump the fluid and less wasted reagent

These benefits lead to reduced overall costs while gaining the traditional benefits of lyophilized reagents.

LyoDots are Small.

Precision Delivery

LyoDots deliver precise amounts of your reagents, salts, and enzyme into each reaction.

Argonaut customizes your assay components, including excipients into a format ready for lyophilization into the LyoDot format.

Want a square or a disc?
We can do it.

Morphology: Various shapes are available including circular, rectangular, and semi-spherical.

Packaging: Delivered in sheets or reel-to-reel. Must be handled in a low humidity environment.

Robotic Handling: Use multi-axis robots/pick-place equipment with vacuum and effectors.

Shelf-Life: Dependent on components, usually 2 years.
Capacity: 500K per week.

Background

LyoDots are based on Argonauts popular LyoBead technology. Where LyoBeads are useful in plate formats (such as 96 or 384 reactions), LyoDots are designed for cartridges or automation with 1 to 16 reactions.

LyoDots reconstitute immediately without exhibiting out-gassing that can complicate microfluidics. LyoDots are customizable and each dot can be attached to an adherent surface that greatly simplifies the automation of lyophilized material on assay cartridges and for point of care testing (POCT).

The proprietary adherent surface on a LyoDot ensures the lyophilized reagents maintain positional correctness and physical stability while allowing production of formulated reagents to <2ul.
