Amersham, United Kingdom and Carlsbad, CA – Aug 6, 2025 – Cytiva and Argonaut Manufacturing Services Inc., “Argonaut,” have entered into a contract manufacturing agreement to expand access to reagent stabilization and lyophilization services for diagnostic assay developers globally.
Lyophilization and reagent stabilization offer diagnostic companies and their customers a more reliable and cost-effective approach. It can eliminate the need for cold-chain logistics, extend shelf-life and support environmental goals (e.g. ESG initiatives) by reducing emissions and carbon footprint. Lyophilization can also help organizations align with the new ISO 9001 guidance on climate change.
The collaboration will help diagnostic assay developers gain access to combined expertise, end-to-end support, and manufacturing capabilities from proof of principle studies through to scalable, cGMP-level manufacturing in both Europe and the US. Together, Cytiva and Argonaut aim to help customers:
- Lower shipping costs and overall cost of goods
- Accelerate project timelines and commercialization of tests
- Reduce emissions and promote sustainable practices
