Position and Scope

The Mechanical Engineer I must be capable of following requirements, assist development efforts, build/lead suppliers, and assist in testing sophisticated manufacturing automation in a regulated market. This person will work closely with the Sr. Automation Engineer, Quality Control, Manufacturing, and contract resources to develop and deliver hardware and manufacturing automation solutions. The ideal candidate is an engineer with a solid theoretical and, more importantly, a practical background in electro-mechanical engineering who can operate in the fast-paced contract manufacturing environment. This person must be current on the latest trends and technologies available in the automation space that can advance Argonaut’s service offerings. Interacting with clients and suppliers will be required, so strong interpersonal skills are also a must in this role.


  • Experience implementing design solutions in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to build a process release process for automation working closely with the validation team
  • Proficient in problem-solving efforts to define RCCA, when needed
  • Assist design transfers that result in processes that are robust, technically feasible, and can be effectively scaled for high volume manufacturing
  • Skilled in mechanical design and Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
  • Ability to generate working drawings to support component fabrication
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment
  • Must be proactive and require minimum supervision
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Skilled in problem-solving and troubleshooting
  • Hands-on experience on technical projects with external contractors, machine shops and commercial vendors
  • Partner with client services, operations, manufacturing leads and teams to evaluate the state of development of a prospective client’s manufacturing process and make technical recommendations to assist with the accurate and rapid transfer of the client’s process into Argonaut


  • BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • 1 – 3+ years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering related development, design, and manufacturing release
  • 1 – 3+ years of experience in SolidWorks
  • Ability to implement corporate objectives in an environment with a high sense of urgency
  • Ability to multi-task, handle multiple projects at one time, and adapt to change priorities based on business needs and competitive intelligence
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
