Position and Scope

The purpose of this position is to participate and supervise tasks related to the visual inspection of manufactured liquid injectable pharmaceutical products under cGMP regulations in Drug Product Manufacturing as well as other types of visual inspection activities, as required.

Responsibilities

  • Support and lead the Visual Inspection Department, and supervise the daily activities within the group
  • Set performance standards and encourage employee engagement and results through delegation, continuous feedback, goal setting, and performance management
  • Provide subject matter expertise to clients and internal cross-functional groups
  • Schedule operations and personnel
  • Create and revise SOPs and other types of documentation
  • Perform various routine tasks under the direction of internal SOP’s and cGMP guidelines
  • Participate in inspection readiness activities
  • Oversee implementation of new methods and technologies to enhance operations
  • Suggest improvements to existing methods and procedures

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Life Science discipline or similar with five (5) years’ relevant experience, 1 year of which has been spent in a leadership role. Active years of experience in laboratory and/or visual inspection will be taken into consideration in lieu of education
  • Understands USP<790> and USP<1790>, and 21CFR 210/211 regulatory guidelines
  • Time and project management skills with the ability to multi-task are essential
  • Must be able to effectively communicate within department and cross-functionally with other divisions
  • High level of personal and professional integrity and trustworthiness with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently with minimal direction
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; including Word, Excel, and Overlook
