Supervisor, Lyophilization Production

The purpose of this position is to handle the daily operations of the Life Science manufacturing team, focusing on lyophilization activities but including formulations, filling, and packaging. The successful candidate will maintain the daily production adherence, as well as solve and/or escalate any barriers, as required.

Position Responsibilities

  • Develop a lyophilization production schedule detailing all tasks and when they should be completed by to meet the predicted completion date
  • Supervise Life Sciences employees and oversee daily operations
  • Ensure a high degree of detail, quality, and focus on every job
  • Prepare and maintain prescribed records, reports, and documentation accurately and neatly
  • Perform or help schedule calibrations for lab equipment
  • Ensure manufacturing team adheres to prescribed safety and quality standards and all written procedures and work instructions
  • Assist in the creation and revision of documentation per Quality regulations: including but not limited to SOPs, Forms, Non-Conformance Reports, Customer Complaints, Deviations, Corrective Actions / Preventative Actions, Risk Assessments, URS, Validations, and Qualifications
  • Work in conjunction with other departments to ensure new products are ready for the manufacturing floor
  • Counsel, relate, train, and empower team members based on their attitude and skills

Education/Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years’ experience in a supervisory role or applicable experience
  • Experience with product transfers and scale up tech transfers
  • Proven knowledge of cleanroom and/or lab policies and procedures
  • Ability to train team members to work within ISO and FDA regulations
  • Experience interviewing candidates
  • Willingness to take ownership and drive projects to completion
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency using an ERP system, spreadsheet, and Word processing software
  • Effective interpersonal, team, and relationship management skills
  • Detail-oriented, accountable, disciplined, organized, responsible, and dependable
  • Must be able to read, write and verbally communicate in English
  • Ability to interface well with cross-functional teammates
  • Must be accountable, proactive, be able to speak up, provide feedback, and communicate openly and honestly
